Nice to put faces to some of you - will post on the Duxford thread soon
Thing I want to do is say a big THANK YOU to whoever that guy was in the "odd green" sud that gave peter from alfasudparts a lift
The reason is that as some of you know I have only done 220 miles since buying the sprint in Feb and wasn't quite sure if it would make it - on the way "down" I didn't rev her more than 4000rpm until I met up with another sprint and 33 at bishop storford services (sorry Alfanut33 and Alfa302 thought you weren't going to make it
) as soon as we got back onto the M11 they were off so I had to do 85-95 to keep up
So on the way back - after the 50mph limit on the M25 I decided to run her at 80 on the
M40 , after getting to Oxford I got stuck behind the "normal" Sunday drivers, so After this "mans" adivice that the boxer engine is indistructable I diecided I was the right side of gloucester and gave her some "beans"
OMG I hit 6500 for the first time in 2nd but didn't test the rev limiter, and it really flew, 6500 in third took me to around 75mph (none of my previous alfas got there so fast) into 4th and "eased off" at 90 - job done
Don't know what happend but the exhaust note seamed to change and she got even more "rev able"
- so what could a man do? must of over took 8 cars from oxford to gloucester (not including the dual carriage way
So the next thing will be to get John from "just Suds" to post me all the info he's got on this car so I can have a look whats been done, and maybe do the same for my Tix when I get to engine mods
