Ebay Rally Sud

Just seen this on the bay - cannot see anyone posted it up yet. Anyone know it - I might have a bid....you know, it would keep the sprint company

At least its mid winter, so not much going on motorsport wise.

My free 33 goes in for major structural repairs on the 14th Feb. I've finally concluded I don't have time to do it myself.

Doesn't look very practical? A toy at best. Not sure a sud would make a good rally car unless a tarmac stage?

Auction is still running I think - we have all week to negotiate with wives/banks/selves

I once bought a Matra Murena without telling the wife and kept it in an NCP for weeks as the cost of the NCP felt better than the reaction of Mrs Andy1234 would have been - it seemed like a good plan until the v5 came through.....

I know this car from a few years ago. Not sure what has been done to it since my mate sold it.
Its competed on both Tarmac and forestry.

One thing for sure is that its had a paint job. It used to be black. From memory back then it had a small tank in the boot.

I'd ask for soem more details on what suspendion its running and engine spec.

Rallied a Sud for many years and they do make a good tarmac car although these days you are better competing in the up to 1400cc class as the 1600's are a lot more powerful, 200+ BHP. Also used it in the forests without any real problems.

Unless you have lots of money it will be difficult to get a good result anyway.

PM me if you want anything else I can remember.

To be fair I admited to the Lancia. I omited the lack of engine though.

In any event I phoned up about the sud today. The vendor said he has been on here. It won't be MOT'd before sale so I guess its buyer beware. If it doesn't sell I've told the vendor to let me know and I'll arrange a date to go and see it but I ain't buying a non mot'd car without seeing it - not ever again!

I know that feeling - I had the same reaction when I bought my first Sprint....and it got worse when I bought the second one "For Spares"..........and I've just about been forgiven for the third --- now it's the 6C!

I wish I had your skill Alfasixnut. I love your 6c. In my fantasy world I was building one in my head even before I joined this forum and heard of yours.

If I bought a project car it would hang about my garage gathering dust whilst I spent a lot on tools I don't know how to use (why doesn't machine mart put instructions in with their stuff - I need instructions for a hammer). After a couple of years of tinkering I'd turn up on the door step of Gez110 with a sheepish grin and ask him to help me cut my losses.

I suppose by "If" what I mean is "In the past when".

I'm not much better Andy, I've got the welder and all the other stuff to do the body work on my 33. I just lack time and skill. Thats why, in the end, i've decided to farm it out.
