Great video Lauren.
I see you managed to capture the beauty of that engine note, without the wind-noise. Top work.
What are you using, to record the action?
Thanks Mr D - I got a mini-HDVR system from Dogcam
MiniDVR2 bullet helmet camera system
Its the kind of thing you use for trackdays and stuff. I also bought a suction cup mounting - you can see the shadow of the lipstick (or bullet, if you prefer
) camera in parts of the video. I haven't got a video camcorder, so I thought I would get one of these instead. I can use it as a normal camcorder if I want to, or for more "interesting" applications, like this one!
The camera has a small microphone on the end of a short lead, so I was able to fix the mic inside the car on the engine bulkhead (near my ears, in fact), while the rest of the camera lead ran out of the canopy and down the side of the car. I kept the lead length short in case the suction cup let go (which it didn't, fortunately), and that's all there was to it!
The HDVR produces a high quality 720 x 576 pixel picture, but its now being outclassed by a new generation of mini high-def cameras (1080p or whatever), but this will do for me
