Hi guys and girls,
Just thought I'd finally get 'round to starting a thread on my Zender Sprint restoration progress. I bought the car from my boss, he used to work on it when he was younger and now the pressure is on to restore it to its former glory!
I work at an Italian car specialist and have restored an X1/9 Lido in the past, this is my first Alfa restoration but it won't be the last!
Anyway structurally the car is great, there is however rust along the rear tailgate recess, rear valence and both front lower a-pillars near the doors. The floors are in great condition and so is pretty much everything else.
I have just managed to pick up a new-ish wing and 1.7 engine, gearbox and carbs also I have a recaro interior from a 33 which will be used instead of the original green cloverleaf interior. The plans are to strip, weld, prepare, paint and style the car with period modifications.
Don't worry though, they will consist of Ronal A1's, lowering springs, Koni dampers, 33 interior, 1.7 engine and that is it! I will not crash into halfords!!
I absolutely love the styling of the car but have not yet had the chance to drive it!
The car is originally a 1987 1.5 green cloverleaf with 105bhp.
