90+ degrees with cluster lights off?
I think, it depends from many factors how often, and how long will the fan came on:
e.g. ambient temperature, wind, heat radiated by the road surface,
mixture and ignition advance settings, engine load generated by
anciliary devices and the alternator...
All of these above has influence to the cycle time of the cooling fan operation.
(The how long part is also influenced by the actual line voltage of the electrical
system, and the hysteresis of the thermal contact...)
The cooling fan in my 1.7 IE under hot conditions, in the traffic jam is spins up
in every minute for about one minute long. Succesfully prevented the coolant
from boiling during the two hours trashing period in the traffic jam.
