H4 headlights in Sprint

On my Sprint the two inner headlights are failing MOT standards. Also I use the car mainly on the track where I take out these lights to use their space for cool air into the motor.

So I'm searching for lights with H4 bulbs to replace the outer ones with so that I do not need inner lights at all. Anybody did this before? Or does anybody have any idea what lights I could use?

I thought of lights of a VW Golf but they are about 3 centimeters too big.

I've been told either BMW or Ford RS but both involve quite a bit of work to fit into the headlamp carrier/adjusters
I'm going to look at the possibility of using a smaller reflector and placing it inside the original housing!!!! maybe even get full zeon's!!!!!
At the moment this is only a thought, I'm well away from doing the lights as yet but will let everyone know if its a goer or a pie in the sky dream

One Alfa driver over here fitted the lights from a BMW E30 in his Sud. It was some work but it worked. Unfortunatly they are not H4 so just a replacement for the normal low beams.

After searching on E-bay I think some 5-series use H4 lights, not sure yet which ones or what the diameter of these lights is.

I dont know if it can be done but is it possible to modify the base of the light to accept other type of lamps so that high beams can be used too?
