did some work to get the sill ready for fitting tonight.
1st pic shows the 4 door sill being used, just cut off the bit that goes inside the rear quarter. actually works out quite nice to use them as the step area can then be used as much as is needed
this side though has very little corrosion inside the sill/rear quarter join. the rust on the new sill is only surface corrosion, comes off with a wire brush, looks worse on the pic than it actually is
2nd pic shows again the bottom edge of the rear quarter being cut off. there was a bit of corrosion so best to have it away, and makes access to weld the sill easier
pic 3 shows the area behind the rear jacking point which has had a brace added to transfer a bit of the load when the car is lifted there, more braces will go in as it comes along.
pic 4 and most of the central strengthening panel has been repaired, just a length along the front end where the jacking point will be braced.
pic 5 shows the trial fitting of the door to make sure the gap/alignment of the sill is ok. which it was
still trying to press on despite the chilly weather, need to keep things moving.
