Help Idling problem???

have fitted a brand new fuel pump(mechanical) to my 33 . it used to tick over about 1500-2000 revs in the green but now ive put new filter on and new plugs it seems to have lost revs. but if you boot it the performance is still as good

isnt it meant to tick over at like 900 to 1000 revs anyway? once its off the choke...

Sounds ok to me, tickover is usually about 850rpm.....1500-2000 is WAY too high.

Asumming the Rev counter is acurate... 1000rpm seems in and around normal on a twin carb

Mine idles at about 600-700 most of the time... sometimes it goes as low as 500 and the suddenly jumps to ~900 to keep the engine alive

it wont tick over even when warm, maybe ill get it looked at at the carberator place local ??
