This is an old thread I know, but I've just joined the forum and having come across this and realised it was left up in the air -- so I trawled through my old emails to find SudBoy1490's private correspondence with me (Stuart, Keys4Classics.com) and it seems it was sorted out -- this was his last message to me (21/11/10) -- "... seems the first key cutter got it wrong, the key i got cut this morning worked, a little stiff but after lubricating the lock it worked fine... You can't tell the difference by eye but seems the first key cutters machine didn't cut the groves quite deep enough and needs setting up properly... I'll now have to try and get money off him for the key and cut.... sorry to have troubled you..."
I guess these are points I'd make - #1 - I will do everything I can to solve problems with my keys if they arise. #2 - there's a reason why I fully guarantee my keys cut to code - they work better than locally copied (traced) keys almost every time. And #3 - LUBRICATE YOUR LOCKS. Do we expect any other mechanical part of a car to work well for years and years without the appropriate lubrication?
Thanks for listening! Stuart
