FIAT 128 3P -Sud rival?

If ever there was such as thing as a rival for the 'Sud, this was surely it?

Not very often these come up. Think there's only about half a dozen on the road in the UK.
Wish I could justify snapping this one up. Its top money for a Fiat 128 but find another..

There are 2 cars from my childhood that my dad had that i remember far more fondly than anything else...his yellow alfasud 1.5 (EKW 370V) and his Fiat 128 3P. His was metallic blue, on a T plate and was the Berlinetta model with the black stripes on.

They are very pretty cars and were actually quicker than most 'suds. 0-60 in 10.8 and 102 flat out. My old man said he liked it but despite its briskness no real match for the 'sud as a drivers car.

Not sure how much it matters when it's as rare and good looking as this one.

They were great cars but in the twisties the Sud would eat the 128 up and spit it out

Gorgeous! This one often appears at AI Brooklands. Like a mini-Lancia Beta HPE (not really surprising as the Beta was the first Lancia to be produced following the Fiat takeover), but as Andrew says, it may have been a rival to the 'Sud but can't outhandle it

I always thought about buying one of these to replace my early Suds. Whenever it came to part with the cash I just couldn't do it. Bought a Lancia Delta though one time for a change.

This must be the best around as after a few years they would be fraying at the edges.

I think I preferred the 128P predecessor the 128 Sports Special.

Now how rare are those?
