Does anyone know what I might get for my sud. It's a 1.3 ti registered on 1st July 1984 but with high lifting cams. I just had Michele at Italtec tune it up a months or so ago. it has about the same power as a 1.5ti unit
It has long MOT until next july and few months tax. It is rust free!
It has the very very rare Alfastyle body kit and my paper work says there were only 30 of these specials built in 1984? and there can only be a few of them left today on the road and OZ alloys with Firestone Firehakw tyres all round. It has an Ansa race exhaust which give an ultimate noise and mega backpressure bang when lifting off throttle. The gearbox is OK with a bit of a crunch on second, but I can change gear without it doing it (there's a knack)
It has fully adjustable spax on race spec springs.
I replaced the clutch kit, front discs and pads 500 miles ago - the rear discs were practically new and I have replacement pads on hold.
The car has Ford Escort RS Turbo Morette headlight conversion so it is about the only sud with 4 new headlights with good pattern and reflectors. I must have one of only a few Suds world wide that has rear seat belts which were not law back in 1984.
The car was reprayed in April this year so paint is very good.
It has Ferarri airhorns style horn. I have a set of volocity stacks, breathers and ramair socks in the garage and the manual and a set of mirrors, next oil service items ready.
A few areas of attention are - the boot hatch lifters are rubbish, the drivers seat could do with a replacement. The speedo cable seems to have come out of the drive from gearbox? could have snapped (haven't had time to check or replace yet) the water temp gauge and oil temp gauge are not connected neither is the digital clock. I have the original 1984 stereo but it is sat in my garage. I have the Alfastyle grill painted in Rosso Red in my garage too, I dropped it after it was resprayed and chipped it. I also need to rivet back on the drivers door top furnature so the door card sits true. And regrease the window winder mech a bit. These are very minor things.
It drives lovely and turns heads a lot. I have people chase me to get a look or speak to me. I need a sensible family car - the wife will not let me shell out more money on a car right now, and I cannot see this car be driven over winter, otherwise the repair bill will be massive next year. It needs to be in my garage snuggy and warm and dry not sat out on salty roads. Does anyone know what I should ask hor her if in the event I would sell. I know I will never see another Sud this good ever again short of buying it back later in life?
