Just a quick update on this one.
Firstly, i've now got the choice of two sets of wheels, both old skool, but my choice will be either from 17 x 7.5j 5 spoke Toora split rims, or my newly arrived 17 x 8j TSW's.
Both will need spacers at the rear, the TSW's a bit more, maybe 15/20mm, but i don't think with the supension drop of only 30mm i'm after, i will need to go too radical on the arches, so i'll try a roll of lip, and maybe stretch a small flare on the rears too.
That means i won't be needing a really wide arch set, and body kit, although they look gorgeous, the race cars, Ian series 2 kit, absoloutely as AR should have made them IMO, but if i go that route i'll never get it on the road again!
i think ive sourced a good full Veloce kit, which if i slightly modify to meet a flared arch at the rear, should look very tidy indeed with a slightly spaced out and wider track.
My only worry at the mo, is the weight of these early 17's.
Theres not much i can do about it, and i can't justify the money for some proper proper lightweight race wheels on what is going to be nothing more than a sporty looking road car at the end of the day, but my Toora's weigh 10.5kg each, and the TSW's are 11kg each, without tyres.
This feels pretty weighty to me, anyone know how that compares to others?
