Car in bits again...

Hi MH - K&N recommend changing the jets to compensate for the free flowing air filters, but to be honest I have not bothered and have not noticed any difference in performance. Balancing the carbs is important to getting them to run smoothly, also the accelerator pump adjustment (check that both squirt durations are the same, maybe a diaphragm is split), also I have had quite a lot of trouble with bits of crud blocking the smaller progression holes in the jet tube. That definitly results in lumpy idle and poor acceleration... unless you use wide open throttle!
Timing is also important, as Greek says - I strobe time the Green Machine to 8° BTDC with the vacuum advance plugged. No pinking problems, even in the warmest weather (like today!), using 97 RON Super unleaded. Good luck!
