Help with flat spot between 800 and 2000 rpm
Before I spend almost 170 quid on a carb tune up I'd just like to hear any advice people may have on an issue with my 33 1.7 8v (1988).
It has Dellorto 40's.
Everything seems to work great except when I try to floor it in 1st or 2nd from low revs.
it hesitates/stutters and can even almost do nothing.
It is smooth if I accelerate normally but if I put my foot down and try to accelerate very fast it seems to lose all power for the first few seconds.
Really annoying and sometimes dangerous if I'm trying to cross a busy intersection.
Spark plugs are new (same response with the old ones).
Engine is perfect condition (rebuilt 15 months ago including the carbs).
Idle mixtures are pretty good (just 1 plug was a little sooty but I'd say 95% good overall).
Could it be the fuel pressure or even a dirty fuel filter?
