Hi Sputnik.. Thanks for your comments... I'm building a 33 circuit car in Aus and am very interested to do the strengthening upgrade for the rear pinion that you mentioned and any other upgrades recommended for track work. Budget won't allow for straight cut internals for quite some time but a rebuild and strengthing sounds like excellent advice. Do you have any photos and or tips that you can post or email? ... I also saw your comment on the Quaiffe diffs.. Do you know what most circuit cars are running over there or any pros and cons between LSD's.. i.e. Quaiffe, Gripper or other? Many thanks...

As for the identity of a gearbox ratio

I always thought you could put a daub of paint as a mark on the drive shaft flanges and input shaft and turn the input shaft itself and see how many times the driveshafts turn in relation to the input shaft?

I might be proved wrong - I bet I'm proved actually
