Sprint big brake conversion unused. Plus other sprint bits.
I've given up hope of bringing my Sprint Veloce back to life as I need the garage back.
A couple of years ago when I still thought I could save the body work, I had a Performance/Rally Brake specialists "Godspeed", make up a set of "Big Front Brakes" for my sprint.
Based on Integrale sized discs, they are vented and grooved, with callipers refurbished and modified/bracketed to fit the sprint and two pairs of pads.
Callipers were finished in a vibrant shade of green (green cloverleaf...)
They have spent their time since then sat unused as new on a shelf in my garage.
Ian Godley (prop Godspeed), personally measured up and prepared these for me as a favour, I paid £300 for the parts, if he had done this as a commercial venture rather than for a friend the price for time and labour would have been higher.
These are big discs and only just squeezed under a set of 15 inch 145 cloverleaf alloys, they realistically need 16 inch wheels.
Probably fit the sud and the 33 too, although I can't confirm this.
If you want improved brakes on your precious road car, or rally spec stopping for a track car then email me.
Also breaking the sprint before its trundled off to the scrap yard. Wings, rear and front arches, boot and floor all pretty poor.
In 7 years I had 4 sprints as weekend toys, this was the tightest, driest I had hence I decided to strip it and make perfect. Life got in the way and 2 years later, even having stood in a dry garage its too far gone to sensibly save. (it was put away with 12 months MoT on it!)
1989 champagne green cloverleaf veloce 1.7 8v.
Interior was stripped out and stored 2 years ago, black check.
original wheels ok (with cheap tyres)
145 cloverleaf alloys - very good (no tyres)
veloce body kit did crack in places when removed but could be rectified
Engine was strong and tight, but hasn’t turned for 2 years, tried it yesterday and the starters seized.
Gear box DID NOT CRUNCH when put inside for body restoration.
There’s a number of other bits and pieces - mounts, boots, linkages that I purchased new and haven't been used, or just trial fitted.
Silly offers accepted, charity cases considered, its all got to go as I need the space; will EBay the "special" bits if no interest.
