Hmmm 33 1.5 Engine Swap

My 33 recently seized and i have managed to get my hands on a 1.7 engine. My question is, how easy will it be to swap the engines over and will i encounter any problems despite the similarity of the cars?

Hi Hellfire
Should be a straight forward swap as many 33's had the 1.7 engine (some 8V and some 16V) as standard. (It is slightly more of a problem to put the later 16V engines into earlier Suds and Sprints). The other factor is if the 1.7 is injected? or on carbs (even easier)

Hi hellfire, as Philip has mentioned, its pretty straight forward.

BUT !!!! If your 1.7 that you got is the 16v, you will need the front section of the crossmember to go with it.

I'm not mentioning wiring and possible electrical fuel pumps or whatever, because all that is easy.
