The Sprint Speciale of 1983 was the third Limited Edition Sprint and around 350 were sold in the UK. ( The first was the 'Plus' of 1981 of which I do not know of a UK survivor, the second was the 'Trofeo' of 1982, of which there is a handful of survivors out of around 200)
All three were basically 95bhp Veloces with add ons.
Unlike it's predecessors, the SS had black plastic bumpers instead of chrome and a narrow black rear spoiler. The interior was the same grey/brown tweed as the Trofeo and it also had the same alloys with dark grey centres. It also had the same Britax sunroof and Pioneer push button stereo. The steering wheel was leather rather than wood effect. There was a Limited Edition numbered plaque on the passenger side of the dashboard and Sprint Speciale decals and stripes on the sides. Unlike the Trofeo and Plus, there was a choice of colours - black, red, ivory or metallic green.
Someone has pointed out that there is a pristine, original spec example on sale in AutoItalia. It's No. 206, Aqua Verde, 39k miles and priced at £4695. Bargain!!
