Just a note to let you know my reason for not turning up to this do, and I was just about cleaned and polished for the event.
My wife was driving home on sat afternoon/early evening when she was hit by an army personell carrier on the A30, It wasn't her fault as the lorry driver did not see her on the inside lane and has admitted liability.
The 147 is a 2 door in silver and the rear driverside quater is stoved in with a foot long gash in the metal also the rear window is totalled, needless to say the 147 is a write off. Only 67k on the clock exceptional bodywork and a full Alfa service history regardless of costs, my wife is Ok a little shocked but the insurance company has been great in sorting a courtesy car and getting the 147 to the bodyshop.
The plus side of this is we have decided, well my wife has that she needs a new car, so last sunday in a bit of a mad rush we test drove a Fiat 500 then a Mito (which was surprisingly quick with the dna button set to Dynamic)
then we tried a 500 Arbath (again a great little mover). Anyway my wife takes delivery of her Arbarth on the 4th of September on the new 60 plate so what was a bad experience turned out quite good after all.
