My 81 Giulietta is going to Milan.
I've set about changing a lot of rubber components. It's hard to say how old some of them are so better safe than sorry.
all 3 flexi hoses on the brakes
brake master cylinder
all 4 brake calipers re-built with new seals
clutch master and slave cylinder (both were in a pretty poor state)
I have a full set or coolant hoses to fit still.
Going to change some of the suspension bushes which don't look to clever.
Have also done engine oil and filter, gearbox oil, discs and pads all round.
I've got a reconditioned starter motor coming as the current one sticks when hot. Think I'll get the alternator overhauled as well.
I checked the valve clearances over the winter and had to do some adjusting.
The radiator was re-cored last year so should be fine.
Make sure the radiator fan cuts in when it should.
Porbably worth doing something as simple as getting all 4 wheels (and maybe the spare) checked for balance. No point in putting up with vibration on a long trip.
Look forward to seeing your car. The 1.3SC I ran for 2 years was probably the best car I have ever driven. It was a genuine low mileage one lady owner car. Totally straight and un-molested. The harder you drove it, the harder it went. Drove it 100% every day.
