Unfortunately I did not get an answer to my last question but I see that this auction ended without the car making its reserve at approx £2800.
That tends to suggest that's the value, I'm afraid.
I understand that this will not be what you want to hear but I have recently been through the same pain with a race Fiat that had had thousands of £ spent on it (new race engine, new gearbox, respray etc) and was probably the most succesful & highly developed Fiat in the UK. In the end I felt lucky to get £2700 for it.
An Alfa championship Class A Sud racer was sold last year for £3500 & that had an all steel 1800 engine.
Your engine is too well developed to race in the ARCA series Class D but the car is not developed enough for other classic race series. Only a bolt in cage for a start. I don't think Alfa did a 1700 engine for the Sud so is not eligible for any proper classic races or rallies. I am probably being too negavtive, sorry; its a great looking car & is probably a fantastic fast road or track day car but its too highly priced.
Race an ex Works Toyota Carina in CSCC "Tin Tops" - endurance style racing for clubman.
Sold the Alfa 33 racer unfortunately!
