With the 16V conversions I do always question whether it is the right decision to convert to carbs. I am happy I stayed with the injection and there certainly doesnt seem to have been a detrimental effect on the sound.
Best of luck with this project. As I keep telling Kevjtd dont worry about the back seats and bring it rallying.
you know what i hummed and erred for ages about carbs or injection, in the end i stayed with carbs as i wanted to keep it a touch "old school", and there is something a bit magical about carbs... your 100% correct tho, they are a compromise. if i have to go searching for more power or want to race it , then injection will be the way forward. now i have the carb manifolds on there it will prob have drla or idf shape throttle bodies, or the other option is the standard alfa 33 16v ones, but at 40mm its not a lot more than my chokes / 40mm carbs.
i really wanted a back seat tho, love that look of the roll cage going around the trim or trim around the cage rather, and it gives you a nicley trimed parcel shelf right behind the seats
mind you, the weight saving is good, so rear seat is gone, black carpet in !
Have you done any bracing to the rear of your sud fruitbat? do you have any pics of the cage ect? just looking for ideas
Kev, i think i read in a thread you were thinking of 16v in yours mate..would you want to 16v such an original and clean car? just thinking it might de value it with the 16v?
mind you if you kept the 8v engine and any other bits you changed, and you ever wanted to sell it i guess you could give the option of which engine it came with!
