...Cindarella shall go to the AROC Christmas dinner
Green Machine finally roared back into life at 5:00 PM this evening. She's been up on blocks for the last 6 weeks, while I tackle those front uprights. In that time, I've had the uprights machined to accept screw-in spindles, fitted aluminium hub carriers (easily 2kg less unsprung weight per side
), centred the steering rack, replaced one lock stop (it had broken and was allowing the brake backplate to contact the lower wishbone), squeezed 2.5 turns lock-to-lock, reset the camber and caster and toe. While I was at it I replaced the unevenly worn brake pads with a set of nearly new EBC Green Stuff items.
I've also stripped the telecam camera unit, removed the infra-red LED board and put neutral density film over the lens aperture to stop down the auto-iris.
The bodywork is covered in greasy fingerprints, but I'm happy
The local AROC Christmas dinner is tomorrow lunchtime up at the Pub with No Name (about 10 miles away). I'll be driving there very
gingerly, but at least I will be going in my own car!
