about 9 years ago i bought myself an '86 Arna 1.2SL 5-door
my wife was furious, and didn't want to be seen in it, let alone drive it.
i bought it anyway, because i just love the alfaboxers, and in my mind i'd grew a plan to build my own boxercollection and already owning a series2 33, and a sud Ti, so the sprint and the arna were the missing items
so when an arna came up for sale at a reasonable price, i bought it immediately.
after some persuasing, she finally gave up, and took the arna for a drive, and she actually liked it a lot.
when winter came, i took the arna off the road, to tidy things up a bit
it is a rocksolid car, no welding needed anywhere on the car, but just a bit rough around the edges, and being a car imported from Italy, a lot of little dents, scratches and filler all over the car.
so i've started stripping the car and collecting the bits and parts needed to complete it again
I'm mostly not really into factorylook (just take a look at my series 2 33 ) so i wanted to modify the ARNA too, but since the arna being a unique car, i wanted to keep the mods reversible, so the car would have to keep its white paint, and no major bodymods to make extreme wheels fit, or lower it to much
parts are very hard to find, but i've already collected new lights allround, a new grille, doormirror, new indicatorlenses and some exhaustparts.
other projects came and went again, and the arna stayed in the corner next to the series 2 QV.
so now we're a lot of years further, and i think it's time to get going on the ARNA again
as the series 2 is stripped and again back in its corner, i'll drag the arna out first because it's a simpler job to complete
it will be baremetalled, and get a new coat of Bianco Capodimonte inside and outside
then it can be built again, with a carbed 16v engine, dropped suspension with KONI adjustable dampers, home-made exhaust and on white 15" 5-spokes
I'll post pictures when i've dragged it out of its corner and start work on it
