I thought it best to start this thread to bring together the various work I'm planning during the off season.
We got off to a good start this evening by removing the gearbox, I can confirm that with a little help and the right tools this was a rather uncomplicated job, I now have a 4:1 box ready to be delivered with my spare boxes to 'Cloverleaf Transmission's' the result will hopefully be a good box for next seasons racing.
Prior to removing the box and with the potential of having to remove the engine i did a compression test... 3 of the 4 read 200psi one single cylinder read around 180psi, I wouldn't imagine this to be a huge issue for next season but it's something i'll keep my eye on.
Removing the plugs they were pretty black which only confirms the need to have the carbs set up properly, this has yet to be done.... so to the list.
Brake upgrade (probably the Tarox vented with Milano aluminum calipers)
Glass replaced with Plexan
Removal of various internals to save weight... door cars and mechanisms, heater matrix etc etc
Re sight the fuel pump
Possible ducting for the front brakes
Keep a lookout for 13 x 8 4x98pcd wheels
All the usual service items... brake pads, 20/50 valvoline mineral oil, filters, castrol srf in gearbox... etc etc
Possible full body respray.... I do like white
I'm sure the list will grow in time and some of the work will be dependant on how deep my pockets are... also factoring in my visit to Hospital which right now is 50/50 as to whether it will go ahead next week (long story), it's going to be a crazy winter but hopefully the outcome will be a sprint which will take me further up the field in my second year of racing.
More to come as peices of the jigsaw come together......
