Hi guys,

I'm looking for new rear-view mirrors as part of my 33's restoration - the old ones seem to have loosened up and on both sides one of the cables has lost the end "thingy" that keeps it taut. I'm looking for some opinions here...

Has anyone ever fitted the pre-1990 mirrors on a post-1990 car? If yes what do you think of the aesthetic of it? I think I can get the old-style mirrors much cheaper than the newer ones. Would you leave new mirrors in unfinished black or else spray the same as the bodywork? The body is going to be this colour, but darkened a little more (renault/peugeot code 777 "rouge persan nacre") I'll also do the V on the hood in black so black mirrors *might* be a fitting continuation.

My other option would be to re-condition my old mirrors, but I have no idea where to start with that! And it might be one hell of a job! Does anyoen have suggestions here?

What would look best?
