heres one to watch out for,
i rebuilt my 16v heads last week, then last night when i saw the thread about workshop manuals i downloaded the 16v book as i did not have it,,,
i got that sinking feeling when reading about the job i had just done the other day,,, the valve springs are "progressive", ie, the pitch of the spring changes at one end by about 2mm,.. not something you notice unless your looking for it !! the tighter end goes toward the head!!
of course i dint know that at the time so i put mine back together with some springs the correct way and some not! about a 50 50 chance lol
i've not built a head for a while so i really got caught on that one, just goes to show 5 mins reading the book first ehh ????
anyway went over to the garage today after work, stripped both heads back down and redone the springs...
heres a piccy of one of the heads i took while having a brew
