OK Guys, having spoken to Kev at the Classic Car show we have been exchanging e mails since then. The last one identified the thread 9I could'nt find it!) so now I can contribute! The principle of having a 'Boxer' area at MITCAR this year was not an issue, the problem was getting confirmation from Chatsworth. I was very keen to get this venue for the 10th MITCAR, it was the only one I could think of to rival Burghley this year. So, I was delighted to fix a provisional deal for 22 August, only to find that this had been earmarked for National Alfa Day - and it is the 100th anniversary! Since then I have been trying to change the date and the problem was a possible clash with another event (probably more lucrative for them). However, weeks later and after a lot of badgering, it has now been confirmed as 8th August. Phew!!!
So, the plan is to set aside an area for a 'Boxer Bonanza' to incorporate an AO gathering and I will get the Alfasud Register and 33 Register involved too. Needless to say Alfa Boxer engined specials/kit cars will be welcome (Lauren, you will be expected!)
The deal I have done with Chatsworth will just about allow a charge of £5 per car but this is very numbers dependent, so the more the merrier! The exclusive area we have is BIG (see website) - in fact, I am told that there were 800 TVR's there last year, so we should be OK.
More details as they emerge on the MITCAR website mitcar
Hope you are all happy with this
