series 2/3 dash

Does anyone know if the dash boards from the S2 is the same as the S3?
I need a new one in my car but S3's are next to impossible to find here so I was thinking an S2 dash with my centre console might work.
Any thoughts?

The mounting points are exactly the same. There is a difference in the rubbers needed for the air direction of the heater.
The center consol is a lot different. You will need to modify the plugs for the heater, power windows buttons will be inactive and heater leverages will need modifications as well, unless you are planning on changing the heater box alltogether as well.

I have a spare S3 dashboard but the problem with these are that they crack very easily in sun, which has always been a problem for us S3 owners in Cyprus.
What I have done to mine when I was rebuilding my white 33 and soundprooving it, I cut pieces of metal to the shape of the critical points of my dashboard underneath, and then applied 4 layers of fibre glass under the whole dashboard. Its a lot of fuss but its much better now and much stronger

The S1's dashboards are much stronger and already have metal housing under them. I dont like their colours though. I prefer black. Also I dont like the way the three round vents pop out from the middle of the dashboard, but thats just me
