Its me again !
I thought it would be better to post a new thread about this car as I keep hijacking my own thread about my sprint
Short story: This car was my daily driver, it was an S3 33 1.7 16v S.
About 2 years ago I had a snaped timing belt while driving to work and I just left it there sinse !
I needed the 16v engine to put in my Sprint, so that meant the crossmember as well.
I also had a 1.5 8v engine from my first Sprint that I had reconditioned 2 million years ago and was used for 2 years in George's Sprint and then sat in the rain for a long time as well.
Here is what I came up with for the 33 workhorse :
Engine : 1.5 8v out of a S2 Sprint
Front crossmember and drive axles out of an S3 Sprint
Coil : out of a S1 33
Steering - stock ( power steering )
Front Suspension - out of an S2 Sprint
Exhaust - complete - out of an S1 33
The result is a drivable car to go to work with and to carry stuff with
There are a couple of issues I would like your help with :
First of all , I need to find a way to mount the power steering bracket onto the block of the engine.
The 16V engine has threads there in order to bolt on, right next to the thermostat.
Any ideas ?
Second, can some one tell me whats the propper way of adjusting the valves so they dont click click click all the time ? its getting on my nerves
Third, any recomendations of a good compound/polish product ? Mine doesnt seem to do anything to this badly burnt paint
