Oelholm, i guess you still have the series 1 sand coloured 4 door? on right drive suds of this age there is a connector for all rear lights just under the dashboard/crash pad on the left side, the wires run down the bulkhead inside the car adjacent to the wheel arch, then behind the carpet and along the left floor/sill edge. Pull apart and push together this connector a few times, do the same to connectors behind the instruments, you will have to remove instrument panel first. The rear lights are earthed by the bolts that attach them only, but if other rear lights work then this isn't your problem. Twist and remove the none working bulbs several times too, this should remove any corrosion, as with the connectors, Also pull apart and reattach the light connectors in the boot. Hope this helps. If you have a simple circuit tester, test for 12v at the bulb holder, then at the connector, then work your way back along the wire towards the front of the car testing for 12v at each connector point for the wires in question, you can then find at which part there is a break in the circuit.
Will you be at the boxermeet this year?
