Head gasket

Hi all
My 1.5 ti,s head gasket has gone, can one be done or is it better to do both.
How do i tell which one has gone
Can i fit a bigger head off a 1.7 and whet else would i need to do
Does the engine have to come out
Are any special tools needed
Thanks in advance

It would be wisest to change both. And you can change them with the engine in the car. And no, no special tools required. So go ahead...

Thanks sprint20.
I was begining to think nobody was talking to me.
Are the head bolts the stretch type or are they re-usable

They should be re-useable. I used them again and I havent meet any trouble yet...

head gaskets are pretty cheap though, i would be running new ones if i were you, if possible try to get some copper ones, there certainly aren't necessary but they do work better under extreme conditions
