Replacing a core plug on the Engine Block

Bought a Alfa 33 1994. Recently i have noticed one of the core plugs has corroded from the inside and is leaking.

Has anyone replaced one?
How do you get it out?
How do you put the new one in?

Are you referring to the the sheet metal plugs in the cooling galleries of the engíne block? They can be replaced by tapping (hard) on one side of them, making them tilt, and you should be able to get a good grip with a set of pliers and pull it out. A new one can be hammered into place by using a socket from a socket wrench set with a slightly smaller diameter. Hope that's clear enough.

I suggest to replace them once you get them out to use a soft face hammer like a thor, rawhide hammer, everyone should have one, best tool, i have about 6 of em, they make copper ones too but they are a bit severe, but the rawhide ones and the copper ones are good

I used to just drill a hole in the core plug then put in a big screw and pull it out with pliers or a puller.

Putting the new one in is the easy bit.
