Hi there,

I can't ever recall this being discussed and I take a keen interest on the 33 posts. I do know that because of the quad cam construction of the 16 valve boxer, the cost in using high lift cams etc is very very expensive and puts many potential tuning guys off the idea. If you look for 'toad' in the members section and send him a PM I'm sure he could help further as I know he's very knowledgeable on boxers, and finding website nuggets in this area. Hope this helps.

Warm regards

Well just to prove Mak right !!!

AutoDelta had one I'm sure, but outside motorsport it's not common.
The 16v only really feels good above 3500 rpm ,
So wilder cams are probably not worth it.
But you could ask the shop on this site.
I see you in greece so all these uk address's might not be of any use to you.
And for a motorsport company try

Hope one of these has the answer for you

Sold :(

Yeah the P4 my father owns has all its power about 4k rpm if I remember correctly. So if your cams were any more excess you would definately lose driveability and your fuel economy would be shot to ****.

The only way i know of to get more power from the boxers with to fit 90mm pistons, which autodelta do.. but expect them to cost twice what your car is worth

They will increase your engine to 1823cc, and increase torque. which is allways a good thing on the boxers

Have you checked with "Boubis" yet?

I seem to recall he had a cam profile applicable for the 16V.

P.S. Oh, yes, there are other Greeks here too!

Alfa 33 perm 4

i had mad cams in my perm 4 that i used to have.

meeting the same problem as you i went to piper and got them to reprofile my cams as a one off.

its cost about 280 i seem to remember. they kicked in at 4k and went all the way up to 8500rpm. (had the rev limit moved up a bit with a chip.)

the most expencive part of the job was gettin the old cams out and then puttin em back in after piper had done their bit. and then it all needed tuning again cos the timing was waaaaay out. and i had the chip remapped again.

cost a bomb but the car went very well
it's only money in the end.. and you can take it with you when you go!

if life was easy, everyone would do it.
