Racing or track day 33s

Anyone here ever used a 33 P4 as a race car or track day car. Would it be a good idea or are the two wheel drive models better suited ? I was thinking a stripped out light weight P4 with a little extra power could be good fun for such a thing I have heard the P4 puts it's power down much better so I think it could work well.

i have had a lot of alfas in the past from suds to 33s and also owned a p4 ,they do handle really well but for power i always liked the 1.7 8v 33 i owned it seemed to accelerate better as the 16v didnt pick up until later in the rev range .
the p4 did handle amazing though but im sure you car play about with it to get it to go better.

A P4 was raced in the ARCA series several years ago - it went okay but the weight penalty wasn't worth the additional traction. You'll have as much fine - if not more - with a 2wd. There are some race prepped bargains around at the moment if you can cope with something un-registered...or convert it back to road legal.
