yes you are right about the cold climate and cold air being denser and so on
Correct but in a perfect world,
the standard airbox has a tube that comes off the outside of the exhaust manifold (if that is standard) and this is so that the fuel doesn't start to freeze and stiffen up the carby, but this only really happens when it is cold, when i first got my sud the hose was buggered and i couldn't get one like it was meant to have so i improvised.
foam air filters are cheaper and work better than standard elements but they don't work as well, i know plenty of people who are racing sud's and most use k&n, one guy does use the on one of his engines but even he says horsepower is greater with k&n
he just ran outta money, and plenty of other people say this as well,
uni filters are'nt usually that cheap, it was only 20 bucks cheaper for my mates SSS pulsar and he got the k&n
But i still don't know what they will be like on a street legal boxer engine
