1.7 8v jetronic with mk2 golf ignition module ??

i started alfasud engine conversion to a 1.7 8v alfa 33 engine with its jetronic system i have got everything sorted and the engine in but i dont have the ignition module and i cant buy a new one coz its not avilable here in egypt so am just asking

1-can I use the vw golf 2 ignition module with some mods in the wiring ?

2-the engine has a lambda probe sensor so its the "cat converter" version acctualy i dont know to much about the cat converter can i run th engine with out it ?? or it will make problems?

I think you need to look at a good book on fuel injection/engine management like the Haynes one, or maybe post on a forum that is into these things. It may well be compatible, the problem is you may damage the module or your ecu if it isn't. Best to try and get the correct one, even if you have to get it posted to you from Europe?
