Hi, thanks for the positive feedback. I started her up the other day, a bit lumpy at first, then I balanced the carbs and adjusted the AFR on each choke, she now ticks over at a satisfying rocksolid 900/1000 rpm. Now there's no annoying ticking from the new hydraulic tappets yippee
Although I have now discovered one small coolant leak from a pipe that goes to the thermostat, fixed that now so all's good
Well nearly!!! I need a new battery the cold winter seems to have killed off the old battery with it not been in use.
The pictures were taken a couple of years ago of the exterior and its gathered quite a bit (lots)of dust so a good wash and polish is needed. MOT next week, hopefully no surprises there!! The back panel came from a guy in manchester who had it tacked in place on his own sprint restoration, but on removal of his front wings he realised that the car was past it and was about to break into two, so his loss but my gain. The front windscreen surround was new and was off fleabay, lucky find. Yes i am running megajolt ignition, its the perfect answer to any kind of one off engine build using carbs. I just want to drive her now as there is always something to do on an older car. So hopefully i should be able to get to the car show at Harewood House on fathers day, the GP is on the the big screen too!! brawn
