LAUREN, are you still having trouble with the drive train angle?
This is one problem that has been nagging you for quite some time now! Have you finally found the solution?
AL33NUT, I’m pleased that you have noticed the change in exhaust note and that you like it too
. The exhaust is now not any louder than before but the sound and the feel behind the steering wheel are now much nicer. I find that it is a worthwhile mod and if you are going for it I only wish that the result is as good as on my car. And yes mate keep me informed of the progress.
Regarding the throttle blip, my advice is that practice makes perfect. I started doing it in my Alfetta 2000 (my first car) and I mastered the skill after many years of practice. My gear changing speed (especially when changing up) is now as fast with or without the blip
. It’s all a matter of synchronising your feet on the clutch and on the gas pedal with your left hand on the gear lever. In French this technique is called a ‘relance moteur’ and as Lauren rightly pointed out is not as good as a double declutch but nevertheless helps to achieve a smoother gear change
BRIT01, I think I must have a few diagrams somewhere showing the steps to a proper ‘relance moteur’, double declutch and heel & toe techniques. I will try to look for them and have them posted here
