Re: Nova T33 Rebuild (this time with pictures)
So, the first thumbnail shows my part-complete engine, a 1982 service replacement 1.5 Ti unit. I took the camshaft pulleys and carbs off in order to make it easier to get the engine into the engine bay.
Second image is "the Pump House", a small area in nearside rear wheel arch where the hydraulic pump for the canopy fits. Neat huh?
Next two images are rather dark, but does show my nice freshly painted engine bay. The sides of the engine bay are lined in carbon fibre/nomex honeycomb composite which I got from a skip at work. You can also see my rear view camera above the rear window aperture...
The final two images show an interesting view through into the cockpit (I removed my engine bulkhead and seats to get better access to the front of the engine - you can see the telecam display monitor on the dash). The last image shows my rear panel, with the "letterbox" which even the original owner can't explain, filled in. No more post to this address please!
Here's another two to finish off - the nose had some damage during engineless manouvering, so I filled that to. Now all I need is the correct paint match (Opel Signal Green, 74-75) to finish it off. You can also see my headlamp treatment in this picture. My home-made LED matrix indicators work very well.
Last picture shows my original 1978 1.5Ti expansion tank in place, together with the Filter King regulator, fuel pump, ignition coil etc. Just needs a gearbox to complete!
