Now that I'm driving George's car about, I thought it would be a good oportunity to leave my Sud at his dads tyre shop so he could align my steering !
I told him to do it whenever he can, I'm not in a hurry, plenty of cars to use now.
Yesterday, I stoped by and he had it on the car lift.
Turns out my steering wasnt so much out of place like I thought it would be. The main problem was a broken ball joint from the steering rack to the shock absorber
I never had a broken ball joint before ! This is the first time for me
Anyway, George's dad found a replacement ball joint lying around in George's stuff
.... so he gave it to me and I changed it so he can do another check on the alignment.
The other problem he found was with the camber ! The left wheel is dead straight ( 0 degrees ) and the right one has positive camber +2 degrees.
This is odd ! Isnt it ? The hubs are standard 33 ones , as are the shock absorbers and I didnt make the holes for the shock absorbers bigger in order to change the camber.
Only thing I can think about is a bended shock absorber
