Got my 33 back today !
John took me to Limassol so I could drive my 33 back to Nicosia. We took the car with the guy who did the mapping on the dyno so he could fine tune it and see whats the outcome.
Came up with 128 horsepower on the wheels - 172 bhp on the engine and 16.1 Kg torque.
the car could go up to 133 horsepower on the wheels - 178 bhp on the engine but we wanted to play it safe.
Turns out I have way too much back pressure from the exhaust , which holds the engine capabilities back ! In other words my exhaust is too small.
They suggested I remove the middle muffler and put a 63mm tube from the end of the manifolts to a straight through rear muffler, keeping the curves and shape of the exhaust so I can still have the needed back pressure.
If I do that, the car will probably gain another 5 horsepower on the wheels
But this is all just numbers to me - dont mean anything !
The important part for me is this:
I drove the car on the highway back to Nicosia, cruising at 160 khm's. Dropped to 4rth gear on a straight line and full throttle climbed instantly to 200 khm's.
Off the highway and into town I kicked the throttle down on what I thought to be 2nd gear and the car pulled very well and revd very fast ! But then I realized that I was in 3rd gear instead
So thats a good thing !
Now I just have to tidy up some cables , vacum hoses etc. Then I'll wash the car, wash it again, dry it, and then take it out of the garage and .... wash it
I have the dyno results printed from last time and from today's run. Will scan them and post them tomorrow.
