Morning guys !
Sorry no smiley face today !
I had George take me to Limassol yesterday afternoon to pick up my 33 !
Turns out my 33 was no "beast" at all !!! quite the opposite actually ! The car had poor responce and half the power it did before I put the OMEX ecu in it !
I told this guy who did the mapping - which by the way turned out to be a very good bloke - and he said that because he never drove a 33 before , he thought that that was the engine's performance and didnt expect any more !
He didnt know however what went wrong, so I called Adie at AHM to help me out.... AGAIN !!!
Turns out, the ignition timing was all wrong !
So ... to cut a long story short, Adie told me to see " Spark total " in the START screen of the laptop, and whatever number is in there I should have double that number on the timing gun at the flywheel ! If its not you just need to fiddle around with the timing alignment till you get it right ! .... if I got it right myself ....
This guy thought that because its a coil pack, he didnt need to do this ignition timing setup. But after I told him what Adie said, he did this but with one difference !
When he had the timing gun on the flywheel it showed 25 degrees.
So... if he went by what Adie said, he should have 12.5 Spark total on the laptop screen !
Instead, because he saw that his timing light showed 2000 rpm and the engine was running at 1000 rpm, he devided 25 by 2 to see how many degrees it is at 1000 rpm. Then he put half of what he found on the laptop. So ended up putting 6 degrees !
He wont do it the other way untill he gets confirmation from Adie that its ok to do so , but I left the car to him so he can hopefully find the problem... on Monday
In the meantime, I came back to Nicosia, biting my nails, sending emails to AHM and hoping Adie doesnt get bored with me and stops replying !!!
I wish I had the money to bring the car to UK so Adie would do the mapping himself and get it over with !!!
