took the car today. Cost me 100 Euro for the truck to take it
Took it to my mate's garage so the mapping guy can work on it from there. He finally agreed that the MAF sensor is not a MUST, but !!!!...... he wants to use the MAF sensor as he said because if he doesnt its easier for something to go wrong and break the engine !.... which is something I dont want !!!
Then he also told me that if I dont use a MAF sensor, the car will be perfect in full throttle and on no throttle but it will be very inconvinient driving in town and will also burn lots of fuel !
This is a subject I'm not comfortable with so I cant argue with them , plus they were a bit snappy when I told them I want to run without MAF , so I will install a MAF and get it over with !!!
The downside is that the 300 euro he wants for the mapping is only for tuning on the road and NOT on a Dyno as he told me before
AND the dyno costs 80 to 90 Euro if its only for measurement - 3 runs, BUT its 140 Euro per hour if you want to do tuning !!!!
What a bunch of thieves !!!!!!!!!
So... I wont be doing a dyno run this time , because I cant afford it at the time, and I will stick to the road mapping he will do and pray he knows what he's doing !
Here is a tip to anyone who knows how to map ECU's :
Come to Cyprus twice a year and stay for 2 weeks at a time !
You will be filthy rich and greately appreciated !!!!
