Help more help needed with 33 struts

hi guys
just stripped and gutted my 1987 1.7lt 33 struts to fit my new koni inserts,only to find that the inserts appear to be approx 1in to long and an interferrance fit. im afraid if i knock them in tney will never come out again.can some one tell me were

that was quick and there you were worried about only one bolt holding them in
As long as they are correct for your strut they should be ok, there are 2 types of strut, spica and boge and one will fit inside a wrong strut, as its too small. The other way round will not work as it will be to large to fit.
I am guessing you cut as close to the top of the strut as possible and as long as the insert slides in ok and is not loose, then i would use the bolt and tighten the shock home. I'm guessing the interfearance fit is the top "ribber for her pleasure" cap of the shock. As long as the spring pan does not rub on the top of the shock all should be ok. To remove undo the bolt and tap on the bolt to push the shock free, undo and repeat until it is out.
