Ex 3 Sprints

Hi Stesco
Glad that you are back working on the Sprint. On the 6C I originally closed up what remaind of the top edges of the wing and then used the Sprint glass on the outside of the frame with a rubber cover strip along the lower edge. But now I am going back to the original look, with Lexan in the frame, but onto a closed lower edge with the original trim on the bottom.

Took some pics as threatened tonight. Not great quality as done on mobile phone, however I'll try to explain them as I go along.

Pic 1 - I cut a strip about 40mm wide and about 1.5 metres long. I ran this along the bottom of the window bucket, pressing it firmly into place. I then poured resin on top to thoroughly soak and aloow to solidify.

Pic 2 - I cut this panel to attach to the outermost part of the bucket. Allow an extra 30-40mm on the front and bottom edges to overlap the exising strip. This has not been resined yet other than at the top edges to hold it in position.

Pic 3 and 4 -Tried to show thevpanel in place. This again will be soaked in resin and allowed to harden. Drain holes will need to be fabricated which should be nothing more than a simple drill through the material.

Hopefully this should be sufficient to complete the job. Slow messy and laborious as GRP is a pig in a poke to work with, updates will follow.

Si puo nascere Alfista, si puo anche diventare Alfista.
Ma si muore sempre come Alfista
