When I decided to build my trike I was a little daunted by the scope of the project. Keeping a few lists, scribbled down on the back of a fag box was not going to be sufficient. Apart from anything else, I'm untidy when it comes to organization so I needed something more efficient. It's called housekeeping and my wife MADE me do it!
I needed something which I could keep track of the overall budget, could keep track of names, numbers, items, category data, sizes, quantities, images, basically, anything I needed to store as data.
As part of my job I'm required to design and develop Access databases. Nothing enterprise (although some of the stuff I do handles huge financial turnover). Anyhow, I'm putting together a little database that will handle my project...and anyone elses for that matter!
Is a screendump of the basic interface.
For anyone about to - or involved in - an Alfa project of any size, this may be a useful little tool. It's pretty extensible and will keep track just about anything you can think of. At the moment its little more than a quick and dirty shopping list.
I'm basically adding stuff as I need it, but plan to wrap it up soon as I'll be building as opposed to planning. If it's any use to anyone give us a shout and I'll email you a copy. The only prerequisite is a copy of MS Office, it will run on most versions from 2000 on.
