power window woes

hi all, both my front power windows in my 1988 33 1.7 are stuffed. well the drivers side has already got replaced with a block of wood. anyway i was wondering is it worth getting replacement motors or is it possible to fit good old wind-ups??
cheers for any help. aussie summers are a nightmare without windows that go down..... and up again

Try a breakers. Mine are extremely recalcitrant in the cold weather! I've replaced the driver's side and it is not difficult to do.

most of the time its down to the switches in the centre console, I would replace them before trying to fit new motors, I have an alarm that winds the windows up when i lock the car and the drivers side stopped working because of a short. I cut the wires from the switch out that sent the 12v from the alarm and it works fine now. I also replaced the motor but it wasn't required.
