Sud brake bleeding

Hi, it is too dark for me to bleed my brakes tonight so thought I would come in and see if anyone has any pearls of wisdom for bleeding the brakes on a Sprint with inboard calipers, any advice appreciated!

Re: Sud brake bleeding

Hi Spud - I don't think there is anything different from a conventional car about bleeding the 'Sud brakes - just start at the wheel furthest from the master cylinder and work back to the shortest pipe run. The bleed screws on the inboard calipers are very small though (around a 6mm hex) so can be fragile if rusted in.

Setting up the adjusters for the front handbrake is a different matter though!

Good luck!

Re: Sud brake bleeding

I've always used an easi-bleed which if you get it set up does make life easier but still get an assistant to pump with the pedal.
As the blead nipples are on the top, get a good fitting drain hose attached and have a cloth handy as any fluid weeps ar difficult to get at....
Adjustment a black art , best by trial and judgement, even though I've had a caliper to bits it is still 'one of those jobs' that I struggle to get my head round. If you have good stands and a trolley jack the outside ones can be done more easily from underneath.
Best of luck.
