Re: Alfa drive shafts and calipers
Hi Sausage - so you've got yourself a 'Sud transaxle with inboard brakes? Well done!
I was going to say if you don't need the handbrake facility on your trike you may be able to fit a more conventional caliper in place of the 'Sud units. I believe that the ATS caliper on the 'Sud uses the same internals as a Ferrari 308/328, but I'm not sure whether they are physically interchangeable.
Otherwise, a pair of aftermarket Wilwood calipers should suffice.
I do have a pair of driveshafts which I keep for spares, but I have cut one of the hub carriers open (so its U/S) and I probably want to hang on to what's left for the moment... sorry!
Having said that, there's no reason why you couldn't use a driveshaft from something else (Sierra perhaps) and integrate the hub carriers from another donor (cut down Sierra struts etc.).
The sky's the limit on a clean sheet of paper design such as yours!
Alfanauts are GO!!!
